The Story of Ramble

 

We at Ramble Underground believe that art begins beneath the surface. It's not hanging on the walls of rich folks' houses or written within the bounds of proper storytelling and literary etiquette. Underground was founded as a forum for unknown and established artists. To give voice and vision to things uttered behind closed doors or buried, like dog bones, in the yard.

Being writers and artists ourselves, we understand how difficult and lonely art can be. Check out our links page to find links or suggest new ones.

 

We are looking to publish writing, that's not mainstream. We want stories and images that tell us something new, or tell something old in a new way. Grab us by the throat, knee us in the balls and slap us around, but don’t bore us to death.

Underground will publish issues on a quarterly basis, in harmony with the seasons and all that.

We are now in our 3rd year, on our 11th issue. Our goals remain the same, and we see a strong need for a resource like Ramble Underground. Online fiction and Poetry is slowly becoming a viable source for new voices. We enjoy a consistent traffic of 1400 unique visitors a month with an average of 4 page loads per visit. While we do not see the fall of the traditional Print journals (Something about the smell of paper), we do see the undeniable force of the online publication.
