Art:  If you would like to submit work for consideration, please email editor(a)rambleunderground.org.

Fiction:  We are looking for writing that shows literary bravery and honesty. Make us laugh, make us cry. Don’t make us wish we hadn’t gotten up this morning; unless that is the point of your story. Above all, make some sense. Due to the large volume of submissions, please submit only one story at a time. Once you hear from us regarding your first submission, please feel free to send another. Underground prefers fiction under 4000 words. If it's over 4000 words, it better be damn good. 

Reviews & Interviews:  Query us for reviews of new fiction and interviews of up and coming authors.

Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but we appreciate immediate notice if your work is accepted elsewhere. No hard feelings if you find another venue after all, that's the point. Read my article on Tracking submissions and researching markets in Writing-World.

Payment for accepted fiction is $15 per story as funds allow. We know this isn’t much, but it’s more than nothing. In addition we hope to offer a vehicle for exposure. We ask only for permission to publish the work on our website and in our online archives. Any use in a print publication will be requested and negotiated separately. All rights remain the author's.

Send your submission as an email attachment in either Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format. Please include your name, word count, and the title of your work in the subject line of your email. Send a brief bio in case we decide to accept your work. All submissions should be sent to fictioneditor(AT)rambleunderground.org.

Response times vary up to six months depending on the volume of submissions. When possible, we will offer comments on your piece, and in all cases we'll respond by e-mail as quickly as possible.
