See the last Short Fiction Contest Winners

First Place won $100.00

Second Place won $50.00

Summer '08 Short Fiction Contest
              (Deadline: Midnight (May 15th 2008)

Alright, you like short fiction, we like short fiction, let's say you write some and send it to us...  If you send us six bucks, we'll read it for our contest. Then we'll read the fiction contest entries the other kind folks send us and if we pick yours as number one or number two, you get cash, half of all we collect goes to prizes ($50 Minimum Prize - last prize was $100 and $50). see our official contest rules.

Figure we'll pick three short fiction stories from all the contest entries. Then we'll pick the short fiction story we like best out of the three we like best, and we'll add up all the six dollar bills people send us with their short fiction stories, cut the total in half, and give half to whoever wrote the top two short fiction stories; 35% to first prize and 15% to second.

Break Down:

50% to Ramble Underground (For below mentioned items)

35% to the First Place winner ($100 minimum)

15% to the Second Place winner ($50 minimum)

Plus one honorable mention.

The other half of the six bucks (three bucks) goes to site upkeep, you understand (ads, hosting, bribing friends to copy edit, etc...) So if you don't win the short fiction contest, you are at least supporting the arts, if you do win the short fiction contest you are supporting yourself. Nice thought ey?

Ifyou don't have the six bucks, don't fret. Submit your short fiction story to our fiction editor and have it considered for publication in Ramble Underground. You won't be entered in the short fiction contest, but you may get published.

Either way you get to read all the honorable mentions, whatever the editors feel like writing about, and the prize entries. If you're really good, that's your own short fiction story.

The winning entry and honorable mentions get published and spotlighted in our next issue.  Help us make our short fiction contest a success. Send your best short fiction.     Official Rules >
